Some of very Easy Science Experiment Projects For School Going Kids

Bottle Barometer Science Experiment

Homemade Weather Glass Barometer :

A barometer is basically an instrument which is used to measure the atmospheric pressure by using air, mercury or water. You can build a simple bottle barometer at home which works on the same principle. The bottle barometer science experiment will guide us through the procedure. This is an easy experiment which will allow us to check whether the air pressure is low or high.

To conduct bottle barometer science experiment you will have to follow few simple steps. All you need is a plastic bottle, nail, water, rubber band, air tubing, food coloring and a low-heat glue gun. Heat the nail on flame and then poke a hole at the base of the bottle. Now insert the air tubing through this hole and make sure that it rests on the bottom of this bottle. To prevent any leakage through this hole, you can use a low-heat gun to seal the tubing on this bottle.

Once the seal has dried, you can check further leaks by filling water in this bottle. You can now use a rubber band to secure the tubing to the neck of the bottle. While doing so, make sure that the rubber is not tight enough, as it can put pressure on the air tube. Now pour some colored water in this bottle till its half full. Put a lid to this bottle and keep it on a place where it won’t be disturbed much. Observe it on regular intervals. If there is high atmospheric pressure, the water level on tube will be low. But if the atmospheric pressure is low then the level of water in the tube will rise. You may have seen that the bottle barometer science experiment is pretty amazing experiment and anybody can try this at home.

Conclusion: This article focuses on the bottle barometer science experiment which is simple to conduct and can be pretty amazing for the kids. A homemade bottle barometer can be used to check the atmospheric pressure.
