First of all take a cotton handkerchief and the place a coin under it. Now ask somebody to press a burning cigarette on that part of handkerchief which is stretched over the coin. You will expect the handkerchief to burn on contact with the burning cigarette. But you will be amazed to see that the handkerchief does not burn in contact with burning cigarette. This happens because the metal coin under the cloth of handkerchief is a very good conductor of heat and due to which it absorbs the heat on rapid pressure and the cloth does not burn.
