Let me share some electricity and magnetism experiments for kids, although these must be performed under adult supervision. You require the following materials: bar magnets, circuit wire and compass. Now let’s continue with the experiment. Your hand should be first wrapped with the cord a couple of times. This is purely done to create that distance in the cord and then remove your hand. This cord with the distance created should be put around the compass now. Wire’s ends should be connected next and the bar magnets should move inside and then outside of the coils. An observation from this experiment will be to see the movement of the compass needle.
As I mentioned earlier the kids must be made aware of certain guidelines while dealing with electricity. Some of these are not to touch any switch or any electrical thing with wet hands, the complete insight of magnets should be also discussed and different kinds of pull and push with magnets should be highlighted. It’s imperative that the kids are fully made aware of these things before any experimentation with electricity and magnets is carried out.
